From Scan to Smile: 3D Printed Complete Dentures in Clinical Practice

Giacomo Anselmo (Germany)

Digital workflows are transforming collaboration between clinicians and dental laboratories, improving communication, reducing variability, and enabling more predictable treatment outcomes. This presentation examines how integrated digital processes help move beyond traditional limitations by enhancing efficiency, consistency, and quality of care.

Advances in multi-material 3D printing enable the precise fabrication of complex dental prosthetics with multiple materials, shades, and fine anatomical detail in a single automated process. Monolithic, full-color digital dentures produced with PolyJet™ technology illustrate the clinical impact of these workflows. Fabricated as a single structure, they support true-to-design prosthetics, eliminate debonding failures, and enable exact reproduction from stored digital files without new impressions.

For clinicians, this translates into fewer appointments, reduced chair time, and fewer adjustments, while improving consistency between design and delivery. Attendees will learn how digital workflows can strengthen clinical–laboratory collaboration, reduce clinical variability, and enable more predictable, efficient patient care.
